Winning

I recently came to a very simple conclusion about myself that explains my intrinsic motivation: I love winning. The thrill of competing, giving my absolute all, and achieving something meaningful drives me. Otherwise, what's the point of doing things if not to win? While we might have different definitions of winning, the importance of striving for it should be universal.

I don’t mean winning in the sense of outdoing others; it's more about not falling short of your own expectations. It's about believing in your potential and reaching for it. No one else will do that for you; you have to do it yourself. Having a winning mentality means continuously pushing your limits and raising your standards. There is always room for improvement, and people feel their best when they strive to meet their highest potential. This applies to every aspect of your life.

Why do so many people settle for ‘good enough’? They accept ‘good enough’ in the work they do, the relationships they have, their overall health, their personal development, and especially their career aspirations. But is that what you really want, a life that is ‘good enough’?

You have an opportunity today to strive for something greater. By putting in a little more effort, you can get something that you really want for yourself. I would argue that you have a social responsibility to be a winner—not just for yourself but for those who didn’t have the same opportunities. When you strive for excellence, you inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that elevates everyone around you. In both your work and personal life, however good you think you are, be better. Setting high expectations for yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Have faith in your ability to achieve great things. Be a winner, and in doing so, help others win too.
